Material Characteristics Face stock

 

Direct thermal paper is a kind of thermal coated paper material.

It is characterized of high heat sensitivity and is quite suitable for low voltage print head which is well protected in this case.

There are three layers for face stock: bottom: base,

Middle: thermal coated layer, top:

 

Protection layer When exposed to heating, the leuco dye and color agent react chemically to work out the color.

That is why we can see the graphic on the thermal paper when heated by printing.
