How to Install an NVMe M.2 SSD?
Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) protocol, can be connected to your computer using an M.2 PCIe slot, thus avoiding cables. Just remember before opening up a pc you should never start touching components without an anti-static wristband on.
Switch off your device and as a safety precaution plug it out.
Open your system and locate the M.2 PCIe slot.
On the motherboard locate the M.2 interface.
Install the motherboard standoff screw based on the length of your M.2 SSD. Most drives nowadays use the M.2 2280 form factor.
With the standoff screw in place, slide the drive into the M.2 slot gently. Start at a 30-degree angle. It’s slightly notched.
Push from the back. Do not force it.
After installation, it will sit in a raised position. This is normal.
Gently push down, so the SSD is flush with the standoff mount screw.
Screw down the SSD to the motherboard standoff mount. Tighten it until a snug fit there is no need to torque it down.
And it is as simple as that!
